The Power of Two: Hypnotherapy + Self-Acupressure

Hypnotherapy is a safe and effective form of guided relaxation that can help you to access your unconscious mind. By using visualizations and positive affirmations, hypnotherapy can help you to break through deeply rooted mental barriers and release negative patterns of behavior and thought.

It can also be used to help people achieve their goals (both big and small), overcome a variety of addictions, relax their bodies, and make other positive changes.

In my practice, in order for hypnotherapy to be most effective, the client should feel as relaxed and pain-free as possible. If someone is in pain or has any physical discomfort, their attention often goes to where the pain is, which makes it harder for the mind to relax, and therefore makes it harder to fully enter into a state of deep suggestive state.

Self-acupressure is a technique that involves applying pressure to specific points on the body to relieve pain, promote relaxation, and improve overall well-being on specific points (aka life force or meridians) on the body. This technique stimulates the body’s own natural healing processes and is extremely relaxing to the nervous system. By targeting specific points on the body, self-acupressure can help restore balance to the body and relieve physical and mental tension.

I've developed a technique called HypnoAcuTherapy™ that combines these two therapies for people who are looking for natural, non-invasive ways to treat both emotional and physical discomfort. Combining self acupressure and hypnotherapy into one session creates a synergistic effect that’s much more powerful than when done separately.

I call it the ‘Power of Two’, as my patients tend to get much better results when both of these amazing therapies are performed together.

HypnoAcuTherapy™ can help you to fully tap into your unconscious and work through deep-seated emotional issues, supporting you in releasing physical, mental, and emotional tension in as little as one session.

-
How long is each session? The first session is 60 minutes and follow up session is 30 minutes long and provides a relaxing and healing experience.
-
How many treatment will I need and what is the after care like?Even though you may have less pain after your first visit, I recommend four more sessions to continue the pain relief treatment. Pain affects not only our physical bodies but our energy levels, and continued acupuncture also helps with stress and emotional balance. I also guide you through my self acupressure plan for acupressure that you can implement at home. By simply pressing on key parts of the body, you can lower your pain and feel better throughout the week.
-
What are some of the side effects that I may experience during and after acupuncture? You may experience some soreness or tenderness, but this is common to any acupuncture method. These usually go away within 24 to 48 hours. After acupuncture, you may feel little tired or like taking a nap. This is a natural way for your body to accelerate the healing process. Most people feel energized and relaxed at the same time afterwards!
Case study #1: Lifelong Driving Anxiety Relieved in One Session
One of my patients wanted to resolve a lifelong anxiety issue that was negatively affecting the quality of her life at work and at home, as she would often have to pull over while driving to calm herself down, and sometimes had to call 911 for assistance.

When she first came to me for help, she was experiencing chronic knee, foot and ankle pain along with a high level of anxiety on a daily basis. She thought that her anxiety was just due to being stuck in traffic.
But during her hypnotherapy session, we discovered that it actually started when she was around 4 years old, when her father would often drive very fast on the Autobahn in Germany. This was the root cause of my patient’s chronic anxiety.

And after helping to rebalance my patient's nervous system and manage her pain level, she was able to easily enter into a deep state of relaxation during hypnotherapy.

From there, she could process the trauma that she experienced as a child and resolve the majority of her debilitating anxiety after just one session. This allowed her to live a more normal, stress-free life afterwards.
Case Study #2: Releasing Trauma from Overwhelming Grief
A female patient (42 years old) came in because she couldn’t stop grieving the sudden loss of her mother three years ago. The patient said that she was ready to move forward, but she couldn’t for some reason, and that she wasn’t able to enjoy her work or her friends anymore. She also said that she was very angry a lot of the time and wasn’t sure why.
Physically, she had a lot of ‘heat’ symptoms, including heartburn after eating and being unable to sleep at night. And in the middle of the night, she would often get so hot that she would soak the sheets.
In Eastern medicine, anger relates to heat in the body, and it will get triggered at different times of the day, but especially at night.

We worked on rebalancing her liver meridian, which is in charge of releasing grief, anger, sadness and any other emotions that may be stuck. Then we did a hypnotherapy session specifically focused on the traumatic loss of her mother who had passed away suddenly three years ago.

Before the session, she would rate her grief from 6-9 (10 being highest) at any given time. After just one session, she said that she couldn’t even feel the grief anymore, and that she felt distanced from it. Her heat symptoms also quickly resolved and she was able to sleep through the night, while her anger and depression symptoms faded away.
